Jakarta, Melaka trip...

School Holidays...feels quite relax..dun have to wake up early in the morning...dun have to worry about test...grades...hahaha..

i've just realise tat i've been traveling alot...first, i went to KL...then, to Jakarta...
travelling allows me to see the world in a different angle... sometimes you'll get to learn things that can't be found inside the internet.
Went to Jakarta becoz my mum needs to settle some business issue..i'm not sure wat its about...but i am sure tat i did a lot of shopping there... bought some LV bags, t-shirts...
and meet my cousin who lives in a street called Bukit Kencana.

And...A few days later after, went to Melaka/Malacca..

i did not stay that long in Melaka..only 3 days, 2 nights..

I did went to Melaka before but that was like 10 yrs ago... it was so long time ago!

Melaka has changed alot! it has developed...and there are quite alot of shopping centres at the town of Melaka.

first day, went for shopping at one of the shopping mall....one of them is called the Dataran Pahlawan... the things there are nice & affordable there..

This pic is a man on a 'becak'...i forgot wat they called it in English...Opps..

But anyway, they use this 'becak' as a transport...u can try it wen u go Melaka one day.

i'm not so sure how the 'becak' looks like in other countries..but in Melaka, it looks so special. they decorate it with flowers... i saw some of them even look like some royalty palace...decorate all the 'becak' with gold color. too bad i did not get to take a pic of tat gold color becak...

this is a very big damn shit.err..i mean ship.....it's so big..

it's actually a museum called Samudera Museum...

the ship looks like the one in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean...
actually, you'll need to pay if u want to go inside this ship.

But i did not go inside. coz I want to visit other places.

There is a reason why it is built like a ship...there's a history behind it..and it's all written on the black stone.

it's stated on the black stone that..

"The museum in the model of a Portuguese galleon reminds us of the ship “FLORA DE LA MAR”. it exhibits the maritime history of Malacca during the seven eras : THE FAMED MALAY SULTANATE ERA FROM THE 15TH CENTURY TO THE 1511 : THE PORTUGUESE ERA 1511 – 1641 : THE DUTCH ERA 1641 – 1795 : THE BRITISH ERA 1795 -1941 : MALAYSIA INDEPENDENCE ERA 1957 TO DATE.
Herein lies in the Cargo hold the invaluable treasures of the nation, taken away by the colonial masters after they had conquered Malacca in 1511. But by the will of God, the ship sank on January 26, 1512 in the straits of Malacca on her voyage to Europe. This museum serves as a reminder that once the political power is lost. Hence, everything will be lost."

Me and my sis at the Masjid Kampung Hulu (Kampung hulu Mosque)...

it was built in 1728(PS : gosh..1728?! tats like my great- great grandfather yr of birth!)

this mosque is said to be the oldest Mosque in Malaysia. Coool!

thic pic..hmm..
It's called the STADTHUYS.
it was an official residence of the Dutch Govenor in 1650.. so, at that time the dutch stay ard this church...now, it has become a historic museum and they display many traditional bridal costumes in there.

hmm..coconut...yummy..

Wah..my sister really make me lose weight by going up the stairs...

in this pic..we almost reach the top...

ATLAST!! this is the last staircase that i have to take....

do u realise tat the the staircase..one is made of stone and the other is made of red tiles?

the tiles are the new ones while the stones are the old ones...imagine how ppl in the olen days have to walk up the stairs that are made of stone...it must have been very slippery during rainy days...

Go all the way up just to see a tomb... -_-

anyway...just an interesting hint..these tomb, the words can only be seen during the rainy days...

there was once, my brother was sent to Melaka to do treasure hunt with his working friends and they were supposed to read the words tat are written on the tomb... but they couldn't see the words... then his friend told him to spill water onto the tomb..and afterwards, the words can be seen...wooo..scary..

there is so many other places tat i did not get to see but still, i had fun...as long as my mum buy me Pisang Goreng(fried banana)..everything will be ok. hehe..
alamak...i've juz realized something in the pics...i forgot to change the date in my digital cam...

well..well..well..I'll continue with the next post on my next trip. I'm going to travel somewhere today....can't tell u where i'm goin...haha..surprise, surprise,surprise...u'll have to wait for the next post.. * winking eye

“The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” - Samuel Johnson
